’180′ Movie: Changing Views and Saving Lives

Stories continue to roll in from viewers after watching the pro-life movie ’180′ since it’s release back in September of this year.  Their stories are about people changing from die-hard pro-choice to pro-life within seconds.  The more important stories though are the ones about women deciding to not have an abortion after watching this life changing documentary.  Take the time to watch ’180′ today!

Aliens: Not of this World

Imagine if you will, being transported to a foreign country and your the only one like you in it.  The differences between you and the natives would be obvious.  You look different, talk different, and you act different.  The things you enjoy are different than theirs.  You would stick out like a sore thumb.  Why do you look, talk and act differently than they do?  The answer is easy.  You’re not from there, you’re a foreigner.  A citizen of another country.
 *
Now imagine being a Christian in this modern day world.  A believer living among unbelievers.  The differences  should be obvious, right?  They should look different, talk different, and behave differently than those who don’t believe.  Why do they look, talk and act differently?  The answer should be easy.  They’re not from here, they’re foreigners.  Citizens of another country.
 *
Now back to reality.  Do you profess the name of Christ?  If so, is there enough evidence in your life to convict you of being a Christian?  Or does the thought of someone knowing that you profess make you feel ashamed?  Would someone have a hard time distinguishing between you and the world?  Do you look different, or are you just as immodest as the girl next door?  Is your talk different?  Or is your conversation filled with lust just as much as the other guys at work?  Are curse words and slang still part of your vocabulary?  When your out with unsaved friends is it obvious who’s not drinking alcohol?  Or is beer still on your menu?  How about what you watch on TV or at the movies?  Would your family know that profane and blasphemous language offends you and the God that you serve or do you just sit there pretending that its not being said?  The answer should be easy.
 *
Friend, if you are a believer then you and I are not of this world (Jn 15:19), neither are we to love the world or the things in it (1 Jn 2:15).  We are aliens, strangers, foreigners.  We are citizens of another country.  The differences in our lives should be and must be obvious.  The Bible tells us that we should stay away from the fleshly lusts that war against our souls as a result of being in this world (1 Pet 2:11).  Our daily lives and conduct must be so good that even if unbelievers are speaking evil of us they will not be able to keep from recognizing our good deeds and in turn give glory to God on the Day of Judgment (1 Pet 2:12).  We are to be without fault in this crooked and perverse generation, where we should be shining as lights in the world, holding fast the Word of Life (Phil 2:15-16, Matt 5:14,16).  Jesus said that if we are ashamed of Him and His words in this adulterous and godless world He will be ashamed of us (Mk 8:38).
 *
Take a good look at your life.  Do you thirst after God’s Word like a baby thirsts after pure milk?  Is the Bible your standard of truth and on how you conduct your life?  If it is not, I encourage you to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith (2 Cor 13:5).  It is the grace of God who teaches us that, by denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live righteous and godly lives in this present world (Titus 2:11-12).  Remember, we are aliens not of this world.

“Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;  to be made new in the attitude of your minds;  and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness…Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths…”  Ephesians 4:22-24,29

28,123 unborn babies were murdered in Ohio in 2010

This article puts a positive spin on abortion and I am thankful for all the reductions that are occurring.  I agree with Mike Gonidakis, executive director of Ohio Right to Life, when he said of the drop in abortions.  “But it’s not great news because there were still 28,000 abortions … the goal is zero.”  We are seeing the fruits of the efforts of those across the state working to eliminate it completely.  The statistic that really hit me though is that over 23,000 abortions were committed by women that were not married.  Look how one violation of God’s law leads to another.  When we get away from our Creator’s plan for the family, sex can end up leading to murder.   God designed sex to be ONLY within the Biblical boundaries of marriage and anything outside of that is sin.  Of course in our society lust and sex is heavily promoted through television and movies, without shame or dignity.  Anything goes as long as it feels good.  But unfortunately we are now seeing the results of that promiscuity.  83 percent of abortions committed in Ohio in 2010 were on pregnancies resulting from sex outside of marriage.

I don’t think it is any coincidence that these statistics came out on the opening weekend of  COURAGEOUS the movie promoting the importance of fatherhood.  The question that I have is where were all the fathers of these 23,000 murdered babies?  Our society is in desperate need for men to be men and for men to do what is right.  If you make a mistake you own up to it.

We as Christians need to be sharing the Good News about the perfect man who ever walked this earth, JESUS CHRIST.  It is only through Him that we will see a true change of heart.  I’m praying that Christian men around America will get on their knees and fight like a man.  We must lead by our walk and our talk.  God help me to be the man who He wants me to be.

180 Movie

Abortion is a massive money-making opportunity for those who are willing to kill millions of children each year at a rate of about one child every 27 seconds – (world-wide, a child is killed every second!) We know it’s going to be a very real battle—pro-abortion forces across the globe have already begun to come against us and “180” – but this issue is a hill to die on! We must do everything we can to stop this terrible holocaust. No doubt many good Germans, who spoke up for the Jews in the 2nd World War, lost their lives doing so. We have no such fear in this country, particularly if we let this video speak up for us. Together, we can turn the tide in the fight against abortion and end this American holocaust!

This movie sounds like it may be the very tool that could help us turn the tide in the fight for the right to life.  Order the 180 Movie and take it to you local churches and pro-life ministries.  With any pro-life effort we should never address the sanctity of life without referring to the Giver of life.  I believe this movie will do just that.

Movies – Profundity over Profanity?

Movies like The Help and Warrior are being put out by Hollywood and are promoted as having a great story and a positive message.  Unfortunately the reviews reveal that they also contain an extensive amount of profanity including even the taking of God’s name in vain. Maybe it shouldn’t but it always bothers me when I hear professing Christians talk about watching these types of movies and then declare them to be “good” without any qualifications.  How can this be?

As Christians we are commanded to test all things and hold on to what is good and put aside what is evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22)  I like what the reviewer for the Baptist Press stated about the Warrior, “…does the profundity of the film’s message trump its profanity?”   I question how it is possible for a child of God, who has the Holy Spirit living in them, to sit down and watch a movie that curses the name of our Creator and not feel convicted in any way?  Isn’t this a contradiction in the highest sense?  A fountain cannot produce both fresh and bitter water at the same time. (James 3:11-13)

Let me sound the warning to the Christians that are living in this godless culture.  We are not of this world, we are of God. (1 John4:4-6)  Maybe if Christians would reject movies like The Help and Warrior and demand from Hollywood good messages without profanity we might see more movies like COURAGEOUS being produced.  The way it is now, there are to many “Christians” giving up values for good stories.

“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.”  Exodus 20:7

“…so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world.”  Philippians 2:15

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”  Romans 12:2

Ramadan and McDonalds. I’m Lovin’ It???

This is the new face of America.  Muslims finishing off a day of fasting at an Ohio McDonaldsPrayer rugs and prostration right out in front.  A good teaching moment for the family about false gods and idol worship.  What’s your thoughts on open worship by Muslims in front of a McDonalds?
