Scripture affirms Scripture
As I was reading my Bible I was once again amazed of the continuity of the message that flows throughout it. Scripture affirming Scripture. I first was reading Philippians 4:11-12 where the Apostle Paul is talking about God providing for his needs. “Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.” I then read out of Proverbs 30:8-9. “…give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.” I thank God for not making me rich and not making me poor, but giving me all that I need. What do you think about these two passages? Lend me your thoughts on it.

The Flea Market Millionaire
I wanted to pass along my great opportunity today at a flea market while passing out tracts. As my Dad and I moved from booth to booth I would give out Obama million dollar bill tracts to the vendors. At this one particular booth I gave the bills to a couple of young guys and they loved them. I heard one of them make a comment to his buddy that he was going to put it on the top of his glass case where he was selling his merchandise. When I heard that I went back over to them and gave him about 25 more of the million dollar bills to set up on his table. He gladly received them and set them out for people to take. What an opportunity for many others to receive the tracts long after I was gone. The million dollar bills are such great ice breakers and everyone loves them. As I walked away from each of the booths today I saw many of the vendors reading the back of the tracts. Pray for conviction from the Holy Spirit on each of those that was reached through the printed Gospel today. There would be no better flea market deal than if someone would end up putting their trust in Christ.

Facebook and Christianity: Who’s right, What’s wrong?
It ceases to amaze me how on Facebook among Christians that there is so much arguing over who’s version of Christianity is right. The indirect and sometimes direct attacks against each other with spiritual quotes and big words trying to defend their particular brand of it I’m sure God finds disgusting. I myself was once guilty of doing this. I think that Christians would be a lot better off keeping their doctrinal disputes off of Facebook. I just hope that despite all this spiritual immaturity and division, the Love of Jesus Christ will still shine through. The reality is that there are a lot of unsaved people out there that already have a negative experience with Christians and the church. Do we need to compound the problem even more with our spiritual arrogance on a social media outlet? Christianity does not need to be so complicated like many try and make it.
New and Improved “Christian” Radio?
Before I begin, I want to say that I am blessed to have four Christian radio stations within my local listening area. I believe they are a great tool in reaching the lost and in encouraging the believer but I have some questions about the latest trend that I have noticed in Christian radio. Lately, it seems that Christian radio is using phrases and words such as “kid-safe”, family-friendly” and “encouraging” to define what kind of station they are. I contacted one station and they said that they had hired a professional consultant who recommended that they change their format and start using phrases like “family-friendly”. One station even has a promise that they will not play any songs with dirty lyrics. Dirty lyrics? Isn’t “kid-safe” automatically assumed if you are Christian? Has proclaiming that your Christian no longer a guarantee of something wholesome? Or is it just no longer acceptable to identify yourself as a Christian radio station anymore? Is this just another attempt to water down the Christian message in order to get more of a cross over audience? Is it that representing Christ no longer means what it used to mean? Every time I tune in I can’t help but ask myself which is it? What do you think?
Black Friday Street Evangelism
This is an effort to encourage Christians to go out to their local shopping areas on Black Friday and share the Gospel of Jesus to those in line at the stores. This day provides a unique opportunity to evangelize either by open-air preaching, one-to-one witnessing or passing out tracts. The goal is to have witnessing groups going out on Black Friday (Day After Thanksgiving) all over Ohio and the world. Wherever you live is where you should mobilize and evangelize.

In 1787 George Washington said “The power under the Constitution will always be in the people” and it is entrusted to representatives that are chosen by the people. He went on to say that if that representative executes that power contrary to the people’s interests or wishes then that public “servant can, and undoubtedly will, be recalled.” That is why I am asking all the people in the 6th congressional district of Ohio to recall Charlie Wilson. His actions were “not agreeable” to our wishes. His true side came out during the final vote for Obamacare back in March of this year. Rather than sticking with his “pro-life” principles he sold out to his party. Despite that the majority of Americans and the majority of Ohioans were against Obamacare he willingly ignored the wishes of the people and with his YES vote he chose his career over his convictions. For this he should lose his career as our representative. Just as a reminder, Congress works for us not the other way around. DO NOT RE-ELECT the incumbent Charlie Wilson on November 2nd. Where’s our Freedoms?
In the news lately has been the controversy over the Imam wanting to build a mosque at Ground Zero in New York and the Pastor wanting to burn the Quran at his church in Florida. Building a mosque and burning a Quran are two examples of exercising a right that is upheld by the Constitution of the United States. Most would agree that even though they have the ‘right’ to do it, it is not necessarily the ‘right’ thing to do. My question is not whether it is the ‘right’ thing to do but will the ‘right’ to do it be supported by our government? The answer is revealed in Obama’s statements concerning these two issues. About the mosque he stated,
“As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country”…”This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable.” 1
Now when it concerns the pastor’s freedom of speech we don’t find Obama promising America’s unwavering support. 2 In fact he is only condemned. Our Declaration of Independence says that all men are created equal and that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights. Does this only apply to Muslims now? Rather than recognizing that both of these Americans have the same Constitutional rights, Obama chose to respect the Muslims but not the Christians. Is this the beginning of the eventual end for the rights of free speech and religion for Christians here in America? – JE

VOTE Charlie Wilson OUT of OFFICE!
I got an opportunity to meet my congressman Charlie Wilson as he was walking in the River Days parade in Portsmouth this afternoon. Mr. Wilson is up for re-election this fall for Ohio’s 6th Congressional District. Earlier this year this alleged “blue-dog democrat” was against the health care reform because of the provisions in it for abortion. We found out though when the rubber met the road for Mr. Wilson that he was willing to put party over principle and decided to go against the will of his constituents and voted YES to make ObamaCare a reality.
I questioned Mr. Wilson today about that flip-flop vote on ObamaCare and the provisions in it for abortion. He adamantly denied that abortion was covered and said he would be glad to sit down with me and talk it over. It’s a little late for that isn’t it Mr. Wilson? You already ignored the 6th District voters request for a NO vote back in March. I felt like he got defensive with me and acted like it made him mad that I even questioned him about it.
This is the problem with these type of politicians. They don’t feel any responsibility for their actions in Washington. They somehow forget that we, the voters back here in Ohio, are their employers and they are supposed to vote the way we want them to vote and they are accountable to us! Even though all of the major polls at the time of the vote in March showed that the American people were against this health care reform, Charlie Wilson still voted YES. Disregarding the wishes of the his own constituents and the opinion of the American people, he chose the path of his party and cowered to the demands of his democratic president, Barack Hussein Obama!
This is why we must rise up and get to the polls in November and vote traitors like Charlie Wilson out of office. We must hold him accountable. Take the time this year to do your homework. Our country needs people to make educated votes in this crucial election year. Find out if your Representative or Senator voted YES for ObamaCare. If they did, VOTE them out! If you are in Charlie Wilson’s district, join me in making it our business to knock him out of office. He must be fired!
